Art deco Catalin / Bakelite desk set and lamp with Ripple Glass Shade For Sale

This superb desk set was made by the ABEX company in England circa 1940. It has a walnut colour Bakelite base with a Catalin / Phenolic stem that acts as the centre column for the shade. The shade is in typical art deco form being a stylised elongated cubic form with winged sides.The base consists of 2 glass inkwells with bakelite caps and 2 conical bakelite pen holders.The set measures 18.5 inches tall x 10 inches wide x 5.5 inches deep. The catalin centre section is deep butterscotch in colour and has lighter lemon yellow swirls throughout.The shade is has a frosted glass base with brown and yellow swirls running through the main areas of the lamp shade.Condition.Perfect working order PAT tested and re wired. The bakelite base is perfect no chips cracks or damage, the 2 conical bakelite pen holders both have a tiny miniscule flea bite on the outer rims. Everything else on the base perfect. Glass inkwells perfect with no damage.The shade is perfect with no chips cracks or damage.
