Antique Vintage Richardson Wooden Wood Slat Inside Unusual Box Rubber Flaps For Sale

I have no clue what it was used for but know its old. An old unique wood carry box crate with slats on inside, and metal rods on the ends with heavy cast metal handle as shown. it has a worn manufacturers label on it that says Richardson. has two rubber flaps on it. If you know what it is let me know. it measures 15\" x 12\" (top of handle) x 7.25\" and is heavy weighing almost 19lbs.
