Antique Vintage, National Fire Insurance Co. Of Hartford, Porcelain Sign. Measures approx. 14\" x 20\" x 1/16\" thick. Heavy gaUte metal, can not bend. Amazing condition for age, multiple colors still clear & bright. Lower left has \" Made in England\", lower right \" Imperial Enamel Co LTD New York\", a Company in business from 1890 - 1910. They supposedly imported either the metal or signs or both, and enameled - applied porcelain at their business in New York. Detail on sign is incredible. Lady wearing red, white and blue, holding flag pole in her left hand, shield ( with 3 grape vines at top and Elk below) in left hand, and an Eagle to left of her at her feet. Note Eagle has 4 Arrows in claws. Back of sign has heavy porcelain runs - dripping. 811 is written ( by sponge or finger?) In miss - forest green. Note light rust areas on back; the back side has porcelain lightly applied, and rust areas are where porcelain missed. 6 mount holes, 1 top, 1 bottom, 2 on each side. A few chips, some light rust. Some bubbling under paint by the \" Co.\", couple of Knicks by the lower \"D\". Eagle has a scratch on feathers. If you run your hand over sign, you can feel the Letters, but not on the picture.
