Authentic military pull chain rosary in very good vintage condition.
The rosary centerpiece features Mary on one side and Jesus carrying His cross on the reverse.The crucifix measures 1 3/4" in height.From the bottom of the cross to the middle of the third decade this rosary is approximately 17" long.The first of these Soldier's rosaries was made in 1916 and they were issued by chaplains to members of the United States Armed Services during World War I. They are called pull chain because the links connecting the decades are the same kind used on lamps and military dogtags.Please see all pictures for more details.
