A beautiful Victorian period compensated pocket barometer. The barometer is in nice vintage fully functioning condition, has gold washed brass outer case with revolving outer ring to record barometric pressure and altitude readings. Heavy bevelled glass face to silver'd dial marked with atmospheric pressure to 31 inches and altitude to 12,000 feet. The face is marked for "Rain Change Fair""compensated" and makers details "F.L.West 31 Cockspur St London". The morocco leather silk and plush lined case is showing some wear, otherwise in nice condition, the lid snaps closed firmly
The instrument is in fully working order having been tested, it reacts correctly to barometric pressure changes
