Antique Sumptuously Attired Japanese Maiko Doll in Ebonized Wood/Glass Case, circa 1950.
The Maiko is featured wearing an elaborate Kimono and intricate Obi, an ornamental wig fashioned with several hair accessories, she holds a gold leaf red lacquered fan with a dangling tassle in her right hand, a Kimono bag, and her Tabi are so discretely exposed beneath the flowing garments, enclosed in ebonized wooden (4) glass sided case with hinged door and gray tassle pull, gilt background panel.
Doll Measures: 24\"height x (inner base dimensions 13.5\"length x 11.5\"width). Case Measures: 29\"height x 16.5\"length x 15\"depth.
Doll Condition: Near fine; numerous fine vertical tears of exposed silk underrobe (example seen in last image), otherwise fine. Case Condition: Very good; tassel torn, paper tears of rear board panel (only visible on opposite side of case), otherwise fine.
