Antique RARE Hungarian Zsolnay LARGE Ceramic Cobalt Fauna 30cm Tall Pitcher For Sale

This antique Hungarian Zsolnay large ceramic pitcher is a very rare piece made in the Victorian era.

Handmade around 1880, it features hand painted cobalt blue fauna and was individually made with a tin glaze finish. The pitcher stands at 30cm tall and is 28cm deep & quite big rounded weighing 3.5kg.

This collectable has its hallmark on the base with incised numerals. It is a statement piece that showcases the beauty of Hungarian ceramics back in the Victorian period (1837-1900). In fabulous condition despite its age with no cracks, chips or paint loss. All glazes will show signs of wear after a long length of exposure to light & depending on its position it’s age will end up having a naturally occurring reaction to air called crackling. This is inevitable with all antique glazes, It is a desired look by most collectors of antiquities.
