This listing is for an Antique French Figural Pheonix Brass Ring / Watch or pocket watch / Trinket Display or Tray. It is marked on the bottom “ E*M 415 ”. It was acquired in France, but the exact maker and provenance is unknown beyond the marking. I believe this to be an early 19th century to late 18th century piece, however it could be a little older. Its patina is fantastic, with a lovely aged color. It is extremely finely detailed, the pheonix or griffin head alone could be studied for quite a long time. It has flowing feathers or fur which are very well cast or carved. Its head & long neck appears to be for hanging rings, watches, keys, and more above the tray below it. The tray is also very detailed, with a lovely pattern around it. The outside also has a nice pattern. It is an excellent item of high quality for collectors of interesting antiques, metalware, mystery items, and more! A fantastic gift, display / decor piece, and more.
It is in good antique condition. It has small amounts of wear, as is usual for an antique metal item, but no major damage. It does have a ding on the front lip, where it is flattened a little, but no cracks, chips, or large dents. It has no major areas of corrosion or ugly discoloration. I have not cleaned it at all to leave the patina undisturbed.
