“this badge was made by the Nelson Company/Nelson-Silvia of Houston and was worn while C.V. "Buster" Kern was sheriff. Probably from 1960's or late 1950's. The badge was made using several pieces including an eagle from Houston rank badge. “

1. What is the history on this badge? Came from family or estate?
It is from a family (not mine) estate that we are selling things on consignment. The woman said this was in her dad’s memento box with his father’s badges. She is 75, so we’re guessing it was her grandfather’s.
2. Do you have any real provenance that this badge is real not repro?
This is from an estate with a long family line of TX law officers. I researched, found examples from museum and .org sites. I assume that I am correct after this research, in addition to the related family history.
All items are true antique/vintage.
