Antique Gilt Wood Frame with High Relief Florals Copper Velvet Liner Victorian Period
A stunning and very ornate and highly detailed giltwood frame. Measurements are 24 inches width. Height is 22 inches. The interior measurement of glass is 11.5 inches width. 9 inches height. The outer portion of frame is copper gilt color with a 5 lobed fleur-de-lis pattern. Next to that is a rounded gilt portion in high relief that features naturalistic leaves and trailing vines. There is a velvet liner next to the gilt that is very worn. It appears the color was a soft blue. The interior is another smaller gilt detail that features yet another pattern of leaves and nuts on a dotted background. As far as condition there are losses to the ornate copper gilt work on outer portion of frame. The interior levels of framework are in good condition but as I mentioned earlier the velvet liner shows wear. Please do view all the photos as they are an important part of the description.
