Antique German Beer Stein Relief Werner with the Baron by A.Diesinger #26 c.1900s
Description: This beautiful stein was made in Germany by Adolph Diesinger between 1901 and 1910. A. Diesinger is one of the most collectible beer stein manufacturers. His designs are unique and hard to confuse with anything else.
Made in high relief technique, featuring a man in Renaissance clothes with a trumpet on his side listening to another man sitting on a some sort of throne. A young lady behind the throne is listening to the conversation.
The scene is taken from a poem (Der Trompeter von Säckingen) written in 1885 by J. Viktor von Scheffel, which tells the story of a love affair between a trumpeter and a baron’s daughter.
Original engraving for this stein\'s design entitled “Young Werner with the Baron\" done in 1888 by C. Schweninger.
There is no manufacturer\'s mark only model number 26, but this stein is well-known and described in A.Diesinger catalogs.
