French gilt bronze ornament (pediment). France, circa 1830. This is a antique bronze ormolu furniture decoration. Heavy (not pressed but heavy casting) HIGH QUALITY bronze casting, and HAND chased, decorated with flowers, leaves and wheat. In the Empire period and taste. Original gold gilding, original patina, never been touched. You can add it to your furniture, or just wall decoration (also you can added it to a marble piece). Please see photos carefully. Dimensions: H: 3 1/2 inches (9cm)W: 3 1/2 inches (9cm ) It is a round shape. Weight: 2 oz (58 grams)The heavy weight related to the dimensions, reflects the thickness of the bronze, and authenticity of the piece. Condition report: Original gold gilding, with some discoloration due to age and use. No damage or repair. Original patina, never been touched. Minor oxidation due to age. No holes to fit the nails (never been opened or used) VERY GOOD CONDITION.
