Antique, Early Molded Flint Glass Salt Cellar (Diamond Pattern (c. 1820s)):
$75.00

I have, for sale, an early, American made molded salt cellar. Judging from others I've seen and most that I collect, this is much earlier. Most of the more notable Boston Sandwich/New England Glass Company salt cellars are from the mid-1830s, and this one shows to be more primitive in style and execution. Measures about 3 1/4" long at its longest, just under 2" at its widest, and about 1 1/4" high. Does have slight chips to the rim as seen in pictures 7-9, but these are going to be common in such old items, plus are not nearly as bad as some I've seen. As well, there is some basal wear (picture 10 shows some of this), but, again, common in an old item. The most unusual aspect of this is a burst bubble from the manufacturing. Now, the bubble itself is from the manufacturer, but hard to say when the break occurred. Still, adds a bit of character to the piece, and even if it did not come from the factory with that break, it was probably going to break eventually with such a thin piece of glass at the bottom on that side of the bubble. Please feel free to ask any questions that come to mind. :)
