A very nice fully functioning Berger and sons transit level. Has one vertical one horizontal and 2 diagonal cross hairs. Optics are clear and amazingly sharp.
Has a glass covered hole on each end of scope mounting crossbar that you can see thru. I am not sure if that serves a purpose or maybe it was for a solar attachment.
Silvered circle. All numbering on verniers is crisp and clean. Face of compass could use a very light cleaning just a little discoloration from the needle locking bar. Which works. All knobs and adjusters move smoothly and freely.
This one is ready to work or ready for the collection.
Beutiful patina that has just been lightly dusted with no polishing.
Serial number 4492 puts it at around 1902
