Antique Arcade Wall Mount Coffee Grinder, Cleaned & Adjusted, Ready To Use:
$169.00

ARCADE 25 ANTIQUE COFFEE GRINDER, Made in Freeport Illinois circa 1910-1930. The grinder has been taken completely apart and meticulously cleaned and adjusted. This is a really nice coffee grinder with raised lettering on the glass hopper. The glass hopper has some age bubbles and a spot at the top as shown clearly in the pictures. There are a few other little age bubbles and marks, but the one pointed out is the largest. This was my personal coffee grinder for 3 years (I re-cleaned it after my use so you are getting a totally cleaned grinder), and I never really noticed it. Once the beans are in the jar it\'s not something I noticed. One picture shows a view looking from the top down into the grinder. The black half to the top is the metal plate that feeds the coffee beans down into the grinder (to the bottom of the black plate). I always leave some grounds in the grinder because the oils in the coffee are what prevents the grinder from rusting. The coffee grinder is mounted on a lovely oak wood board, really gorgeous grain and color. The measurements of the board are 7-1/4\"wide by 19\" tall. The grind adjustment is fully functional so that you can adjust the grind as desired.

The paint is not original. The catch cup is obviously not original. The screws that mount the coffee grinder to the wood are not original. I believe the other parts to be original, including the bolts and nuts that secure the two halves of the grinder to each other. I do want to mention that I would say my target buyer is someone who loves the idea of having an antique coffee grinder to use. I realize that some people are collectors, but in my opinion pieces like these are made to be used, so I hope that whoever buys it will enjoy using it like I enjoy using mine. Oh, and speaking of which... the reason I\'m selling this one is that my husband found an Arcade No. 3 coffee grinder that I had some fun with, painted it ivory with gold lettering. I don\'t need two grinders, so I\'m selling this one.

A word about mounting and using the grinder…. The grinder needs to be attached to the wall IN A STUD both at the top AND the bottom of the grinder in the holes provided. Don\'t be tempted to try using it before it\'s properly mounted. Grinding coffee produces a surprising amount of force on the grinder(especially if it’s a very hard type of bean... you may not realize this, but they are vastly different in how dense they are) so if it’s mounted loosely, it would be an accident waiting to happen. The most fragile part of a coffee grinder like this is the larger hopper jar (top coffee bean holding jar). You really want to make sure that you aren\'t placing it somewhere where someone will hit it or kids might be tempted to play around with it. It\'s not the end of the world if you break it, you COULD buy another, but they\'re usually the most expensive part of the grinder. To my knowledge nobody replicates them even, so you really do want to preserve it. Also, keep in mind that you have to have enough space for the handle to rotate around freely. If space is an issue, and you want me to make other measurements to see if it will fit in your space,don\'t hesitate to message me to ask. If you want to see other pictures, likewise don\'t hesitate to ask. I want you to love your purchase (and want to give this grinder a good home), so please ask away.

Enjoy your daily cup(s) of coffee made with fresh coffee beans ground in your very own nearly-100-year -old coffee grinder. I use mine every single day.. it\'s one of my favorite things in the kitchen. And the coffee.... Delicious!
