Offered is a souvenir of the coronation that never took place! A very attractive decagonal pictorial tin with profile portrait of Edward VIII. The lid has a bold display of flags, an ermine trim border, and an inset coin-type portrait, which is a removable medal.
The sides have charming vignettes of Edward, Prince of Wales, undertaking royal duties overseas, in many parts of the "Empire". A reminder of the historical significance of The Abdication Crisis of 1936.
The base has the stylized Rowntree, York cocoa tree. The tin is in very good condition with only tiny areas of wear.
