Makishi dolls represent ancestral spirits presents during sacred ceremonies.This original African Makishi doll has been in our possession for 31 years and is in the same condition as we obtained it (please see all images). We attended two museum sales in Tombstone, Arizona (of all places) in March 1993 with a wide variety of items donated by localsIt is exactly as we obtained it, complete with the supporting metal stand. We had considered some restoration but there was no one local to perform that task, so we left it as is and it was in a protective display case for all this time..We are only selling it as we are downsizing.
