Antique 19th Century Vaudeville Circus Carnival Sideshow Painted Banner Sign: $278.00
This circus, carnival or amusement park banner was likely hand made in the early 1900s (or earlier), proclaiming “FREE SHOW TONITE” by Cheif Welch Co. (Yes, spell check, I know.) In conjunction with its history, it’s bold text and bright colors make it a particularly interesting piece of Americana. As part of a traveling show, this banner was in continual use and exposed to the elements. The canvas is fragile and worn, paint is flaking and there are multiple rips and holes. Most notably there is a large tear that runs almost the entire length of the middle fold. Please refer to the pictures. Banner measures 48” by 30”. Free shipping in the US and 30 returns.
