Antique 1901 LM Ericsson double box telephone:
$550.00

Up for offers is a 1901 (found an inspection label inside magneto box), LM Ericsson oak double box telephone with early OST receiver (looks to be original cloth line cord). From information online, these are said to be the earliest of the Ericsson telephones made in the USA. Some of these phones were imported Ericsson parts while the actual phone cabinet was made by an American company. Others were completely Ericsson made. I\'m not sure about this one, but as the magneto is a Holtzer Cabot out of Ma. and the rest of the parts seem to be Ericsson, I think it is the former listedabove. Receiver is marked \"Made in Stockholm by LM Ericsson & Co..\" Transmitter is labeled \"Standard of the World, Ericsson Telephone Co. New York\". Mouthpiece is marked \"Made in Stockholm, Patented Oct. 29 1895.\" Overall, unit is in good condition. It does have some wear (for a 118 year old phone). OST receiver has a couple cracks as pictured by the screw. Bells ring when cranked while phone is \"hung up\". Note that the mouthpiece has dents (have seen replacements on ). The battery box may be a replacement (well made however) as it was held on with drywall screws, one of which partially cracked the side of the box. I took it off and reglued and clamped it and replaced the 4 sheet rock screws with proper size (albeit philips head and not flat blade as I didn\'t have any) wood screws. It is sound and barely visible. Not sure what the original box was like, but there are no holes for hanger clips (like most double box phones) or a battery tray/holes, so this is a good replacement. This is a nice early phone, ready to restore or hang it like it is. Sold as-is. Shipping in CONUS $45 due to size and weight, elsewhere figured by your zip code. Foreign shipped thru global (phone measures 32\" high, 12\" wide, and about 12\" deep when transmitter is out straight, 35 pounds packed), local pick up in 91761 is fine. Free shipping in conus only with buy it now. Thank you for looking.
