Great for emergency vehicle restorations and antique vehicle parades, 1950s-60s police, fire or ambulance restorations where an \"Old School\" rotating warning RED beacon light was required for the emergency vehicle. The light looks basically identical to the light used on the show and will be a perfect fit for the restoration of a vintage ambulance, fire or police vehicle, especially a Mayberry Sheriff\'s car. There are no markings on the light itself.
It was found in an old garage that may have done old municipal vehicle repair and later may have also done vintage vehicle restorations or movie cars. It was wrapped in plastic, in an oldbox labeled:
“Hold for Andy Griffith Mayberry sheriff\'s car restoration or show --new lens”

VINTAGE/ANTIQUE WARNING LIGHT is VERY CLEANLOOKING and WORKS GREAT: 12VDC. The rotating antique beacon is fully operational. It looks basically identical to the light used on the old T.V. show sheriffs car and should fit perfectly on a vintage Ford Mayberry Sheriff car, Ambulance, Fire Engine or Police restored vehicle. It turns fast, smooth and all the sealed beam lamps work. The light is approximately 9 inches high with a FULL HEIGHT, UNCUT polished base skirt. The lens looks to be new factory original heavy plastic ruby RED plastic lens. On the box the lens was marked as NEW, but we are marking everything as USED and the lens has minor some scratches, but no cracks or breaks -- see pictures. The sealed beam bulbs are very bright. The full height chrome skirt is in good condition as well as the base gasket. There is some slight weathering, scratches, blemishes on the base skirt, and minimal tarnish on the light\'s internal unit (as expected for a light of this age)--see pictures. The light comes with the necessary mounting bolts. The base gasket looks to be in excellent shape. It is unknown if the light was ever used in the 1970\'s show, but it looks to be identical or very close to the light used on the Mayberry, Andy Griffith TV show\'s Ford sheriff\'s car. ( The Andy Griffith Show is an American situation comedy which aired from October 3, 1960, to April 1, 1968. The show originally starred Andy Griffith in the role of Andy Taylor, the widowed sheriff of the fictional small community of Mayberry, North Carolina. Other major characters include Andy\'s inept but well-meaning deputy, Barney Fife (Don Knotts); Andy\'s spinster aunt and housekeeper, Bee Taylor (Frances Bavier), and Andy\'s precocious young son, Opie (Ron Howard). Eccentric townspeople complete the cast. Griffith\'s squad cars were always Ford Galaxie 500 sedans with a traditional rotating red light on top.)
This item came from an estate, garage sale. I have no exact idea of theage of the light. The item is tested and working. I am not an expert in these items.
