Antique American Sterling brilliant crystal powder jar with jeweled sterling silver lid. 1904
This belonged to my great aunt who lived in Gunnison, Colorado. She was a glamorous and well-kept woman with many devoted men tho never married. Men wrote poems professing their love to her. One is even on her headstone. "The Pearl has rolled away. " Haunting memories follow this beautiful perfume jar.
"Ethel" and "1904" are etched in cursive swirl
into the lid and then surrounded by seven amethyst gems with one in center. American sterling logo on side of lid.
2 1/2" height x 4" width.
Very good condition with, wear consistent with age and use. The silver lid has minor scratches and tiny dents. One area of lid is dented. Crystal is in great shape with mild scuffs on the bottom.
Always caringly inspected, polished, repaired, cleaned, and packaged in preparation for it's next adventure.
