Own a piece of Alabama television history with these unique license plate featuring the phrase "Dialing for Dollars & TV Has Been".
License plates were owned by the legendary Anniston, Alabama TV host Bill Hagler. Bill was best Known for his career with Anniston television station WHMA from its opening in 1969 until his retirement from there in 1994, Hagler evoked special memories from longtime viewers of the station — whether as its meteorologist, as the host of its money giveaway segment, “Dialing for Dollars,” or as its genial co-host, with Mimi Butler, of the noontime talk show “By The Way.”
Dialing for Dollars was Show during which viewers chosen randomly from the telephone directory could win cash by correctly identifying the "count and the amount”. I thought it was clever how he turned the S into a $ sign with just a little paint. The other license plate he used after he retired from television is TV HAS BEEN, which is also pretty clever.
Overall, the license plates are in good condition. They do have a curve/Wobble to them but is common in vintage license plates See photos for condition. If you have any questions or need more photos, please ask.
These plate are one-of-a-kind plates that are sure to turn heads. Not to mention, an interesting conversation piece.
