This sale is for a rare wood relic from the launching of the famous Arctic explorer Admiral Robert E. Peary\'s steamship S.S. Roosevelt. The hand engraved wood plank reads: \"From Keel of Perry\'s Arctic Ship Laid At Verona Bucksport, ME Oct. 15, 1904\".
This item is in very nice original condition with minor surface wear and significant age patina.
