Antique, exceptional, large and fabulous Florentine lamp depicting two children climbing a flowered top to reach the luminous sphere. An incredibly rare scene that I have never seen in this type of lamp (I have always seen images of cherubs or children holding the lamp, but never trying to reach it, with an expression of astonishment and fascination).This lamp is unsigned, but experts are sure it was made by the renamed Italian master sculptor P. Conti (attributed).The quality of carvings is impressive andan example of the highest Florentine standards of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.The naturalness in the posture of the children and the details of their anatomy are truly amazing and denote absolute mastery, talent and professionalism. This sublime lamp is made up of three types of alabaster: one in a dark tone at the base, a lighter one for the central scene made in a single block, and a veined one in warm and cold tones for the luminous sphere whose outline is decorated with openwork figures. The sphere produce a brightness that creates a mysterious and fascinating atmosphere. As you can see on pictures, this sculptural lamp is in excellent condition considering its age, with minimal signals of use and working.Extraordinary piece for demanding collectors.Height is 30 inches.Wide is13.5 inches.
