Maker: On the reverse of this exquisite covered vegetable bowl and matching platter or under plate is the green underglaze white ware mark number 12 of Haviland, one of the great Limoges firms at the turn of the last century; this mark was in use between 1894 and 1931.Source: third edition of the Collector\'s Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston.
Design:The classic pure white pattern,called Ranson or Schleiger 1,is on Haviland\'s Ranson blank. It features subtle scalloping around the edge and distinctive bow-shapedhandles on the vegetable bowl. The porcelain is very thin and translucent.

Size: The bowl is 9 1/8 inches long, 7 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches tall without the lid. The platter is 13 1/2 inches long, 9 5/8 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches tall. The three pieces together weigh about 4 pounds.
Condition: Both pieces are in excellent condition, especially considering their age and fragile material, with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, repairs, crazing or significant wear. The underside lid rim has slightly darkened - that\'s visible in the photos.
