ANTIQUE GERMANY FELSENSTEIN & MAINZER F&MN PEWTER LIDDED TANKARD STEIN 1891 1903

Height: 8 1/4 inches tall. Based on the subject matter, the hinge design and the Made in Germany mark on the bottom, I'm guessing that this is from the 1890's . There are three portraits with text "Die Gründer des Deutschen Reiches" - "the founders of the German Reich": Bismarck is on the left, Wilhelm I is in the center & Crown Prince Frederick III is on the right. The German Reich or state was founded in 1871. This may be a commemorative pewter stein for possibly the 20th or 25 th anniversary of that event. The scenes around the surface are quite ornate and detailed.
