Fidelis of Sigmaringen, O.F.M. Cap. (1577 - 1622) was aCapuchin friar who was a major figure in the Counter-Reformation and wasmartyred in Switzerland. Fidelis was Beatified in 1729 and canonized in 1746.This medal is from the period of his Beatification as seen by the "B"before his name.

Francis of Assisi, was an Italian mystic, poet andCatholic friar who founded the religious order of the Franciscans. He wasinspired to lead a Christian life of poverty as a beggar and itinerantpreacher. One of the most venerated figures in Christianity, Francis wascanonized by Pope Gregory IX on 16 July 1228.
