This sale is for an original set of (2) presentation concept boards for the proposed ALIENS 3D theme park attraction in Seoul Korea.
The inked version was done on a type of vellum/tracing paper and the coloured version some type of thicker paper. The original inked drawing measures roughly 17x24\'\' and the hand-colored xerox roughly 15.5x22.5\'\' not including the paper they are attached with. Both pieces are in very good condition as pictured.
There were two entrance designs made, one was the Futuristic version you can see published online, and the second version was the Bavarian version we\'re currently offering. You can see both versions featured on the Alien Anthology Blu-Ray Extras along with some additional pieces for this project. I\'ve included a screen-shot from the DVD which shows the complete inked version before tape corrections were added later in development. You\'ll notice that anything remotely technological/futuristic from the original version was completely covered in tape.
Aliens 3-D was a theme park attraction that was originally proposed in late 1996, following the success of T2 3-D: Battle Across Time at Universal Studios. The attraction was originally set to be constructed at Samsung\'s EVERLAND theme park in Seoul, with Gary Goddard and his team hired to create the next generation 3D attraction following a deal with 20th Century Fox. The construction of Aliens 3-D came to an abrupt halt when South Korea faced a financial crisis in 1997. The project was put on hold for 90 days and was ultimately cancelled, remaining to this day one of the greatest never-realized attractions of theme park lore.
