In thetantrictraditions ofBuddhism, the vajra is a symbol for the nature of reality, orsunyata, indicating endless creativity,potency, and skillful activity. An instrument symbolizing vajra is also extensively used in therituals of the tantra. .Various figures in Tantriciconographyare represented holding orwielding the vajra.
