2 US WWII Alaska Adak Navy Air Base Military Photo Albums 1930-1947 For Sale

WWII news clippings, wartime photos, Adak NavalFacility,scenery of alaska andfamily photos in 2post and string bound albums. One album is embossed with navy emblems. Most photos are secured to corner mounts but a few are loose and some have writing on the back. Mentioned in the military photos are \"The Duke\" \"The King\" Whittaker\" and some photos have R.J. King on the back. There are over 350 photos dating from 1930-1947 and about 380 items total. Adak Naval Facilitylaunched offensives on the Japanese during WWII and was a surveillance outpost during the Cold War. The base is now abandoned.Thereare also a SeattleTimes press photo of a firehouse from 1950 and 2 unusedphoto postcards by Don Lancaster of Graceland and an area of the Smoky Mountains.
