2 Antique Tinted Western Photos (Cataract Canyon AZ, Lake McDonald, MT) c. 1915 For Sale

We are offering these two antique lovely tinted photos of western scenery. The first depicts Cataract Canyon in Arizona with a Native American standing in the remains of an ancient Havasupai stone fort with rock formation in the background called \"Adam and Eve\". This information is supplied by a pencil inscription of the reverse of the photo. The photo is 11.25\" x 7,5\". It has some stains and colors on the back that I think were those used in tinting the photo originally (they do not show through to the front surface). The photographic image is in great condition and was clearly created by a highly skilled photographer c. 1915 Our price is based mainly on this photo with the second just as an add on bonus. This second tinted photo is an evening scene of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park with the mauve and powder blue sky reflected on the lake\'s surface. It is 12\" x 6.75\". Three corners of the photo are chipped, it has a small tear on the bottom edge and there is some scratching and a dent (impression) in the right side background (in the dark area below the peak along with other light surface wear. I think these issues could be easily mitigated with matte board and a little touchup. i think it also dates to c. 1915.
