1st Edition Signed WWII Photo Book God Honor Fatherland & Signed Photo Excellent
This is a first English Edition from April 1977. The Edition is number 78 printed.
The book is signed by the author, and by the photographer with an additional 8 x 10 photo of Batterie Commander Diddens, also signed and excellent. All three of these men have passed away making their signatures even rarer.
On 4/25/44, as First Lieutenant, Dibbens distinguished himself in a Counter offensive against the Red Army in the Jassy area north of Targul Frumos, Romania. He led his troops and took out 3 Russian Tanks and 31 of their anti-tank guns. For this action, he was awarded Oak Leaves to his Knight’s Cross and promoted to the rank of Captain.
The condition of this book is pristine. The black hardcover is beautifully printed with silver lettering.
The dust jacket is also pristine and has no marks or blemishes.
There is a clear poly wrap over the dust jacket, easily removed or replaced. It has done its’ job of protecting this book. I provided a close up photo showing the blotchiness of the sheer poly. The photo in my garden also shows the plastic film and is the best example of the true color of the dust jacket.
Other photos show the pristine dust jacket without the film.
The pages and binding are tight and pristine.
No marks on any pages, the hardcover or the dust jacket.
Clear poly protector is smudged.
I carefully package each book with another sealed poly bag, a bubble envelope, and a custom fit book box. I also ask the buyer to insure each book so you can be assured that it is protected.
