19th Century Plated Silver Arabesque Custom Tobacco Pipe Tamper For Sale

A late 19th century silver plated fruit knife was repurposed to make this gorgeous little tamper.

It would be wrong to call this tamper rare, because factories in the northeast were turning these out by the thousands in the 1890s. But I can say this...the Arabesque patterned fruit knives rarely hit the market, and when they do, well, they are priced out of reach for us simple pipe folk.

These were a lucky find at the right price...I'm pleased to be able to pass them along.
