19th Century Antique Woven Ash Splint Gathering Basket, Round & Deep With Handle For Sale

A beautiful 19th Century American woven ash-tree splint gathering basket. It\'s round and deep and with a carrying handle. These baskets were used in the field to gather small planets or vegetables such as berries, flowers, and other small and light weight vegetations. These were hand made using splint wood from the ash tree. Now people use them for either their original purpose, or as decor items.
