This solid brass, nickel plated 1955 Gillette “Red Tip”razor you are viewing was thoroughly cleaned, polished, and sanitized. It is arazor designed with heavier beards in mind, as it features a thicker, heavierhandle and a wider gap between the blade and guard.
It's in excellent working condition. The doors open andclose smoothly, as well as tighten down evenly and securely.
The cosmetic condition is fair to good with a small to moderate amount of plate wear/brassing under the head. You'll also find some of the typically seen paint lose at the tip. Naturally this doesn't effect the shaving experience.
"A-4" is the date code, found under the head, andconfirms that this razor was manufactured by Gillette during the fourth quarter of 1955.
