Offered here is a stunning example of American modernist design,vintage c.1930’s. This playful design incorporates both skyscraper motif base and assemetrical arms, exemplifying high style art deco of the period. While stylistically similar to lamps produced by Markel and Faries and to those designed by Gilbert Rohde, neither the maker nor the designer are known.
This lampis in excellent working and cosmetic condition. External parts have been professionally plated with exception of the black disk, where a gloss black powder coat finish has beenprofessionally applied. The original sockets and switch have been retained and are in excellent condition. New reproduction period twisted cloth covered wiring has been installed and appointed with a new reproduction bakelite style plug.
This lamp accepts standard candelabra base bulbs. The original bulbs, as shown, are included but not warranted.
