1920s American Arts & Crafts Gilt Metal Lamp. Emeralite Style Green Glass Shade.:
$476.00

For sale is a circa 1920s American arts and crafts guilt Meadow lamp with a cased glass emeralite style shade.

From a private estate in the Hudson Valley of upstate New York

The lamp base being a heavy metal base, possibly a lower grade bronze with an antique gilt surface. The base is quite heavy, indicating it's not a spelter or white metal material. A heavier metal of source, but we are unsure. We deal with a lot of white metal, spelter metal, bronze, and brass and all other various metal objects and this just seems a little bit more quality and heavier than your typical lighter metal materials.

The base featuring an outer conjoining husk style form with squiggly organic patterns encasing art deco style light ray bursts at the top and bottom.

Outlined by strap work with central button motifs. The base with matching patterns in a circular design.

The shade being a green with cased white glass emeralite style glass shade.

Together they really have a strong arts and crafts appeal. The green glass juxtaposed against the antiqued gold surface of the base really exemplifies a lamp of the period.

The lamp having a beaded pull that works as it should.

The electrical cord being a contemporary but period looking cord said common on the re-wiring of these older lamps to comply with todays code. We still suggest that buyers ensure that the electrical wiring is safe and code compliant prior to use.

It turned on and off for us with no problems at all.

We removed the bottom plate to look for a makers mark, but we did not find any markings.

Condition: Age appropriate wear to the gilt gold/bronze surface commensurate with age.

One chip in the low rim portion of the glass shade. This chip being hardly noticeable at all when the shade is rusting in the shade support. (See detailed pics)

**NOTE: PICTURES SHOW THIS LAMP IN BOTH INDOOR AND OUTDOOR NATURAL LIGHTING**
