Purchased from another collector in Germany years about 15 years ago. He had itprofessionally restored and has been on display only since then. The lantern has NEVER BEEN lit it up and it is untested. There maybe be a few imperfections, but over allthis lantern is a 9 out of 10 with the restoration job that was done.
The globeis more than rare to have survived all these years with this lantern. The WickBurner - Thumb Wheel was manufactured by Thiel & Bardenheuer of Rhula inThüringen. Thiel & Bardenheuer also produced wick burners for Hermann Nier.The factory - village where this lantern was produced in and around 1900 was onthe school road in Leuben - Niedersedlitz.
