1880\'s ADAMS & WESTLAKE RAILROAD CAR HANGING LAMP For Sale

You are offerding an \"ORIGINAL 1880\'S ADAMS & WESTLAKE RAILROAD CAR HANGING LAMP.\" This lamp is absolutely original, complete even to the ceiling brass vent. The brass vent is marked \"Patent May 31, 1887.\" This lamp is completely made in a beautiful slightly reddish brass. It is needing a thorough polishing and will be absolutely beautiful. The brass is oxidized from age but is satiny smooth and will take a glorious polish. Again I will state this lamp is absolutely original and has never been electrified. In fact, the wicks seem to have very little use to them and I am sure with added kerosene it will burn again. This lamp has been in our possession since 1975. When we got it the lamp came from an estate of a railroad man for GN. Supposedly he got it from a salvaged railroad car from the horrible Wellington railroad disaster. It measures 20\" high and 23\" across. This measurement was taken as it sits on the table. We are moving and had it hanging from the ceiling with a long light bulb hanging in the chimney. When lite it looked like was glowing and was absolutely beautiful. This lamp is a railroad collectors dream. We have seen them in recent sales at $3000.00.
