1870 Southern Pacific RAILROAD pass...Pass is in excellent condition.
Rare... This first Southern Pacific Railroad was incorporated in 1865 and consolidated with the California Southern, San Francisco & San Jose, and the Santa Clara & Pajaro Valley Railroads in 1870 (consolidation with dozens of small railroads followed in later years). Leland Stanford, Collis Huntington, Charles Crocker, and Mark Hopkins of the C.P.R.R. had gained control of the S.P.R.R.
The S.P.R.R. expanded and reached the Arizona border in 1877, and in 1883 it was merged with other railroads built west from New Orleans, Louisiana, across Texas and New Mexico. In 1884 the Southern Pacific \"Company\" was incorporated; and the railroads making up the earlier Central Pacific system were leased to the S.P.Co. a year later.
