1860\'s Rifleman Bowie Knife Forged Blade Brass Guard Selma Arsenal Civil War Era For Sale

Very nice old rifleman\'s bowie knife. The forged blade is thick and heavy, showing some pitting in the metal but is still strong! The knife is tight and secure. Original patina on the blade, makers mark is SELMA ARSENAL. There is corrosion over the maker mark making it hard to read. Brass guard has a nice patina. This knife has seen some use! Knife is 14\" long. 9\" blade. I believe the blade has been worn down and resharpened many times because its unusual to see such a short blade on a D guard knife.
