1855 Kentucky Manuscript Slavery Document Slave Bill of Sale Mulatto Negro Girl:

 This is an original 1855 manuscript slave bill of sale document from Harden County, Kentucky.  This document is dated August 23, 1855 and reads in part:

 “...Samuel Simms and Elen Simms his wife of Harden County, Kentucky have this day granted bargained and saled and delivered to John A. Skees of Grayson County Kentucky one certain Mulatto negro girl by the name of Sharlot aged about eighteen years…sound in mind and body and a slave for life…in consideration of eight hundred dollars” 

This document is a single folded sheet measuring about 7.5” x 7.5” handwriting in sepia ink on one side.    

This document is an original antique slavery artifact from 1855 and is fully complete, legible and in good condition overall with some toning and moderate wear but very suitable for framing or display.  Email any questions.  Thanks for Terms
