1850’s Antique Leather Album 48 Tintype 2 CDV Groups, Tinted, Unusual, Swim, Fur For Sale

This album is part of a MUCH larger and very eclectic collection of photos and documents that was purchased in Europe several years ago. The red and white acid free sticker that part of the previous owners collection and catalog system is located on the bag the album came to us in.

Unfortunately since some sellers are now copying the photos we are listing and selling printed copies, we have had to get more aggressive covering up the photos with various watermarks.

Up for sale is an 1850’s Antique Leather Photograph Album with original images. It includes 48 tintype photos from what looks to me from the same families. Among the 48, there are a variety of kinds of images from single portraits, several family or group portraits, color tinted images, images of women together, men together, children, babies, and a group photo in Victorian bathing suits. Definitely a nice album with several unique individuals.

Condition: Album

Good condition, especially for age, the outside leather cover has some areas that are dry but the book remains tightly bound. There is gold foil on the page edges, when the book is closed there is an embossed floral or leaf pattern. The latch is tarnished but is fully functional. The inside has some signs of age, yellowing on pages, dirt, spots, and other signs of age, use, handling and storage. One of the white stones is missing on the back.

Condition: Images

Overall good condition, they all seem to be in similar condition with few having any bends or creasing. Some of the images are slightly dark. The pages or photo frames have some yellowing or small tears. The last page or Index of Portraits is blank.
