1900s LSC London Stereoscopic Company LANTERN SLIDE SCREEN frame in wood box! This is something I have had sitting here in the basement for a while & decided to list it recently. First it is from the London Stereoscopic Company and I believe it to be from the early 1900s. Its more than likely 1 of a kind too as over the last year we have not seen another nor found info on any from LSC. I know it looks like a mess all thrown in the box but was the way I acquired it and have not done anything with it since I originally acquired it. The way it looks the bamboo pieces would have gone into each other with a metal pieces to hold it all together. There are no directions & it is being listed as an antique LSC box with an incomplete frame setup inside. I would think originally there would have been a canvas screen but from what i was just told it would have been rolled and not been in this box and why it was never found. The cord part would have gone thru the tube , hooked thru the canvas, to allow it to be drawn up or held in place. It is unknown to me how it looked when put together & what is missing. I will be re-organizing the parts here to make it look more presentable inside the box. The box itself has 1 hinge on the right that is not connected to the box. The box itself has a split bottom. It needs glued back together or to simply put a very thin piece of wood into the box that would have glue under it to then hold the whole bottom together. The sides are loose to so the box is falling apart but could be fixed with glue probably in a couple days i\'d think. It has been on my winter list of things to do but never got around to it. In shipping since it is 52\" long already, the longest I can really make the box wrapped up will be about 58\" x maybe 10\" x 14\" so will be using some good pink housing insulation to make sturdy and then wrap it in cardboard and then tape it like a mummy with strapping tape so it is one thick & strong box that will not exceed shipping limits using the post office. It is would need to be packed larger than this Fedex shows $700 for the shipping on a quote just to London when I checked. Its a pretty cool piece of antique MAGIC LANTERN photographic history that would be a great item to add to someones hardcore collection or to even resell at a show. If you have any questions or offers please do so.
