This is a HUGE 6\" long camera/magic lantern lens engraved by the Bausch & Lomb Company. The large brass lens like this one are getting tough to find. This has been sitting in a drawer for many years. The rack & pinion move 100% BY HAND forward & backwards but by trying the knob is too dirty inside I think for it to go. If you hold it down and help push or pull the barrel you can turn the knob & get it to move but with the weight & it being dirty it will not do it on its own right now. There are marks, scratches, dirt on the body but for a 100+ year old lens is in very good condition still i\'d say. There are glass lenses on each end. They need to be cleaned more so than me just wiping them off. On both ends they look good but very dirty. Maybe some brass polish will clean it up the outside better as I have left this in original as acquired patina. Overall though a HUGE brass lens which are pretty sought after for various reasons. This is an odd one I have not seen before. ?\'s please ask.
