Here for sale is this exquisite Hutschenreuther playing foals figurine - handmade and handpainted fired porcelain in excellent used condition as shown on the pics. Produced from the highly regarded german porcelain manufactury Hutschenreuther (today a part of Rosenthal), Selb, Bavaria, Germany. First formed in the Victoria / Art Nouveau or Art Deco Period from the famous sculptor Karl Tutter with the title \"Spielkameraden\" (playfellow). This figurine impresses through the stunning details & beautiful painted soft dapples.The figurine has an old hallmark from ca. 1946 (Hutschenreuther Selb Germany Kunstabteilung).Tremendous Figurine, outstanding details, very lifelike situation.

Karl Tutter (* 1883 † 1969)was one of the most famous porcelain modellers of the 20th century. His porcelain works gained him fame nationally and intenationally. To some extent the Hutschenreuther art figurines owe their good reputation to Karl Tutter.
He created a large number of figurines for the brand Hutschenreuther, such as \"Sonnenkind\" (sunchild), \"Nach dem Bade\" (after the bath) or \"Finale\".

Condition:

Excellent - no chips, no cracks, no repairs - scratch through the hallmark because of an fault in the glaze near the rim of the pedestal - see photos

The figurine is even more beautiful as the photos can express it !

A truely vintage figure with price. It would make a great addition to any horse / stallionfigurine collection or a phantastic present.

• Karl Tutter
• geboren am 28.9.1883 in Neudek (Sudetenland) - gestorben am 28.3.1969 in Selb (Oberbayern)
• Deutscher Bildhauer und Porzellanmodelleur. Künstlerische Ausbildung in Österreich, 8 Semester Studium an der Kunstschule und ein Privatstudium im Zeichnen und Malen bei Prof. Josef Mayr. Nach dem I. Weltkrieg Kriegsgefangener in Ostsibirien, wo er unter der Leitung des Forschungsreisenden W.C. Arsenjew im Staatlichen Museum für Landeskunde in Chabarowsk modellierte. Arbeitet seit 1922 für die Porzellan-Manufaktur Hutschenreuther in Selb und war dort fast 4 Jahrzehnte tätig. 1941 Ehrenpreis für Plastik in Bayreuth. War einer der bedeutensten Porzellanmodelleure des 20. Jahrhunderts, seine Arbeiten brachten ihm hohes Ansehen im In- und Ausland. Gilt als Mitbegründer des Rufes der Hutschenreuther Kunstfiguren. Schuf zahlreiche herausragende Figurinen, wie u.a. \"Mephisto\", \"Sonnenkind\", \"Nach dem Bade\" und \"Finale\". Auch die Vielfalt seiner Entwürfe war bemerkenswert, die Palette reichte vom lieblichen Puttenkerzenleuchter bis hin zur klassischen Art Deco Figur. Literatur: Vollmer, Band IV (Q-U), Seite 484.
