"Signed" Japanese Type 90 Helmet - Picked up on Leyte in the Philippine Islands: $900.00
This is a Japanese combat helmet picked up on Leyte Gulf in the Philippine Islands. The vet who brought it back signed his "name" on the helmet on the inside and "Leyte Gulf November 1944." His name is Lennard Paddock. When I acquired this helmet I also received a small book where he had signed his name in two places in the book. Check my pictures for these signatures. The outer shell does not have any dents or cracks to it. On the inside it has an excellent liner with all three pads behind the leather fingers. The straps have not been cut and are the correct length. This overall is a very excellent Japanese combat helmet and what makes it even more collectible it has the the veteran's name and the date he acquired it on the inside, lower part of the helmet. When GeneralMacArthurand his forces invadedLeyte, General MacArthur fulfilled his promise to the Filipinopeople "that I shall return." All told the Japanese lost more than 55,000 soldiers during the two months of battle and approximately 25,000 in the mopping up operations in early 1945. The U.S. forces lost about 3,500 compared with the Japanese loss of 80,000 total. Two new pictures were added! If you needadditional pictures send me a message!
