Ronald Reagan\'s (1981-1989) - 1981 - State Dinner, Service Dinner Plate - Mfg. by Lenox of Trenton, New Jersey. And was selected specifically by First Lady Nancy Reagan; in part for her fondness for red and also in that Scarlet Red provided a bright accent to the white paneled walls and gilded accessories of the State Dining Room. Mrs. Reagan personally approved the sketches for each piece and made the final decision about how the gold and red banding should be applied.
The gorgeous Presidential Arms, at the top center of the Service Dinner plate, was hand-applied in raised gold paste. Forty separate handlings and an unheard of nine firings were required to make this Ronald and Nancy Reagan Official White House China
