Up for sale is an original 1942 WWII US Bond Poster. It pokes fun at Hitler, and asks the American people to put forth 10% of their pay towards US War Bonds.
The frame measures approximately 24\" x 18\".
The poster that\'s seen through the glass measures approximately 21-5/8\" x 16-3/16\".
The poster is probably a little larger than that.
WWII and afterwards is when stone lithography began to end and offset printing took over en masse according to Google.
Though, I\'m unsure what sort of printing technique was used for this poster - it appears like how newspapers looked at that time.I provided high quality, super close-up images for you to determine the type.
The frame appears to be nailed together at the edges. There are some nicks and marks to the frame, as shown in the pictures.
The poster appears to have been folded into four sections and probably stored before being framed.
I have two more original and rare WWII posters up for sale, so please feel free to look at those, too!
Please view photos for specific condition details - you be the judge and you grade!
Comes from a smoke and pet free home. Happy ing!
