L’Accolade Lost Wax Bronze Horses Statue by P.J. Mene - Baby Size

Romantic Mare and Stallion embracing sculpture

Pierre Jules Mene was born in Paris in 1871 into a prosperous artisan family. He learned his art from his father and went on to earn four medals at the Salon and major exhibitions, receiving the Cross of the Legion d'Honneur in 1861. He became the most prolific, successful, important and influential animalier of his time.

This beautiful and very romantic equestrian American Bronze sculpture of two horses, a stallion and a mare nuzzling, L'Accolade (The Embrace), is cast in the traditional "Lost Wax" process. This sculpture is reproduced in solid bronze, cast in multi-colored brown patinas and then hand-rubbed to bring out the incredible detail and highlights. The statue is then mounted on a fine marble base with an etched brass plate.

Size: Baby, 5.5 in. H x 7 in. W. Available in all dark brown patinas, all golden brown or brown stallion & golden mare. Please specify color preference when ordering, if none specified we will send whatever finish is in stock.

Also available in Medium (14.5"W x 22"L) and Large (23"H x 30"L)

This statue may be made to order. Photos are representative of what the finished statue will look like, however, due to the handmade quality, no two statues will be exactly alike. Please allow 3-4 wks for delivery.

Why we no longer offer free shipping on this item:

Free shipping is never "really" free. It's a myth, just like Elvis, the tooth fairy, Area 51 and Santa Claus. When a store offers you free shipping, they're making up those costs by making their products more expensive. If we were to calculate the shipping to the farthest distance to our location and added that to the cost of the product that would not be fair to those who are close, would it? Also, free shipping excludes those individuals who live in AK, HI & US protectorates because shipping is more expensive to those areas, so instead, we use calculated shipping by location. Compare our prices and our quality - often, our prices are much less than what other stores charge for the same quality item, make us an offer and if we can accept it, the item is yours. We believe in transparency, and accordingly, we don’t profit from the shipping cost, we pay a very simple, very fair, competitive cost for shipping and whatever we pay, we pass it on to you.

All of our bronze statues are sold foundry direct with no middleman so you can save hundreds to thousands of dollars from retail prices. When making an offer please shop around and compare to other pure American bronze statues (not cold cast bronze which is just resin) and make your offer a reasonable one. Thank you.
